Georgia Foley Obituary

Georgia Mae Foley (Thompson) passed away the morning of Monday, April 8, 2024 in Russellville, Kentucky at the age of 91 years old. Georgia was born July 30, 1932 in Texas City, Texas to parents George and Maggie Thompson. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1950 and resided there until her move to Angleton, TX.

Georgia Mae Foley was married to her husband Eddie Weldon Foley for 62 years. Together, they had four children, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren of whom will miss her deeply. Throughout her life, she worked as a teller for a number of businesses: Three Brothers, O’Bannon’s, and a local bank in Angleton, TX. Eventually she worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart.

Georgia Mae was an avid reader who loved gardening, cooking a full breakfast each morning for her family, and her favorite dog Penny. She also enjoyed weekend garage sales and finding a good deal! Her family especially loved it when they would get together to watch the family slideshow on her projection screen, where Georgia would make her famous tea cakes, banana bread, and homemade ice cream. She was a devoted follower of Jesus and faithful attendee to Sunday School at Second Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Eddie Foley; and three of her children: son Michael Foley, daughters Debbie Foley Willis and Cynthia “Cindy” Foley Walder; parents George and Maggie Thompson; grandson John Cody Walder; sister Vivian Laurice Carter Thompson and brother-in-law Nolan Carter.

Left to cherish her legacy is her son Gerald Foley and wife Joyce; son-in-law Johnny Walder; and six remaining grandchildren: Shawn Foley and wife Julie; Christie Perez and husband Efren; Connie Thomas and husband Halston; Jeramie Willis and wife Rachel; Charlotte Sterling and husband Chris; Melissa Rodriguez and husband Tido. She is deeply missed by her grandchildren by marriage: Paul, Kevin and wife Jennifer, and Aaron and wife Kristy Billings.

Georgia is also survived by her thirteen great-grandchildren: Nolan and Chase Foley; Austin Jeane, Alexandria Hernandez and husband Christian, Joseph, and Olivia Perez; April Drews, Dalton and wife Ashley Drews; Conner Willis; Liam and Coraline Sterling; Ava and Ally Rodriguez; and four great-great grandchildren: Aliyah Perez and Isaac Hernandez; Angel Drews; and Madelyn Drews.

Georgia Mae Foley’s Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11 AM at Second Baptist Church located at 1817 Shanks Rd, Angleton, TX 77515.
