Obituary

Addison McKenzie Connelly, age 19, of Auburn, Kentucky, passed away on June 28, 2026. Born on March 8, 2007, she was a remarkable young leader, elite student-athlete, and a shining light in her community. Addison left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her throughout her formative years, having attended Auburn Elementary, Logan County High School, SKYCTC, Kentuckiana Real Estate Academy and KSCORE- Keller Successful Career Opportunities in Real Estate.

Addison’s legacy is defined by her extraordinary discipline, excellence, and a rare ability to inspire others to follow her lead. A decorated competitor and natural leader, she served with distinction as the Battalion Executive Officer (XO) and Raider Commander for the LCHS JROTC Corp, instilling a legacy of honor, integrity, and teamwork in her peers. Her grit and mental fortitude shone brightly on the national stage, where she stood as a proud Raider Nationals Competitor. On the range, Addison’s focus was unparalleled. She was a two-time Kentucky State Air Rifle Champion and a champion of the Sgt. Maj. Paul C. Gray Memorial Invitational, where she captured first place in the individual category and spearheaded the LCHS Rifle Championship team to a historic first-place overall finish.

Beyond her JROTC leadership and marksman achievements, Addison was a tireless competitor on the track and trails. As a varsity runner for the Lady Cougars’ Cross Country and Track teams, she poured her heart into every stride. Her defining athletic grit was on full display at the Warren East Raider Twilight Run, where she led her entire team across the finish line with a leading team time of 25:02.64. Addison was fiercely driven, but her accomplishments were always eclipsed by her immense heart. Her warm smile, unwavering determination, and boundless kindness will be forever missed by her family, her teammates, her JROTC comrades, and the entire Logan County community. She ran her race with unrivaled courage, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations of Cougars to come.

Addison is survived by her loving mother and father, Miranda and Dustin Connelly; her sister, Bayleigh; and her brother, Abel. She leaves behind her maternal grandparents, Hope and Mike Strode, and Tony Fuller; her paternal grandparents, Benjamin Connelly and BethAnne Caccivio; and her maternal great-grandparents, Sue Fuller and Ruth Howard.
