Boyd E. Wright 82 of Auburn passed away November 15, 2025 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. He was born December 12, 1942 in Auburn Kentucky to the late Harold and Gladys Kees Wright. He was a member of Auburn Church of Christ. He worked for Logan Telephone Company and retired from there after 36 years of service. He was a volunteer fireman instructor for Auburn for 28 years and a volunteer EMT for 6 years. Boyd also stated "he  was a farmer for life". He loved spending time on his farm and his beloved Massey Ferguson 35 tractor.

He married the love of his life LaVance Wilson Wright on February 15, 1964. They shared a love for the outdoors, which was spent hunting, camping and horseback riding. They enjoyed traveling and loved visiting historic sites. They shared these passions with their children and grandchildren throughout the years. On the weekends you could always find them out dancing with their many beloved friends.

Along with LaVance, he is survived by two children Wade Wright and wife Nancy of Auburn and Tami Wright of Russellville. Four granddaughters Meagan (Bj) Ferguson, Jessie ( Cory) Cooper, Mallory (Dylan) Offutt and Kaylee Cooper. Great Grandchildren Makayla Ferguson, Lukas Adler, Lorelei Ferguson, Carson and Olivia Offutt. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Gerry Wright, special cousin Jimmy Wright, other cousins and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by two brothers Harold Ray Wright and Ralph Wright.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 19, 2025 at 2 pm at Kirby Funeral Home in Russellville Kentucky. Visitation will be held Tuesday November 18th from 5-8 pm and Wednesday November 19th from 10 am until 2 pm, which is the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Auburn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Wright, Grant Wright, Hank Stanley, Bj Ferguson, Dylan Offutt, and Connor Cash. Honorary pallbearers Bill Woodward, Tom Hoover, Wayne Crawford, Steve Montgomery, Jimmy McGuire
