Carol Walters Gorrell, 85, of Russellville passed away Sunday October 29, 2023 at Creekwood Place Nursing and Rehab in Russellville.   She was the daughter of the late Willard Walters & Rhunelle (Sinard) Walters also preceded in death by her late husband Lieutenant Colonel Browning H. Gorrell Jr.    She is survived by long time companion Lowell Hatfield of Russellville, son Buck Gorrell of Cowen, TN, daughter Cissy Gorrell Harter of Russellville, sister Diane Fenton of Tallahassee, FL, granddaughter Emily Hamrick, grandson Joshua Hamrick, grandson Myers Gorrell, and many others.  Carol loved all things beach and that was her happy place.  She also loved reading romance novels and dancing.   Visitation will be on Thursday November 2, 2023 in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville from 10 am to 12 with a Graveside Service to follow at 12:30 in Maple Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital https://www.stjude.org/ and the Wounded Warrior Project https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/.
