Obituary

Lois Madeline Lack Taylor, 82, of Russellville, KY, passed away peacefully while resting at her daughter's home on March 20, 2026. Born the youngest child of John and Geneva (Crafton) Lack, which was a position she filled with song and spirit.

Lois has joined a fantastic family reunion with those that preceded her in death: her mother and father, her brothers J.D. (Rachel), Floyd (Dot), Jimmie (Nancy), and Roy (Carlene), her sister Ruby, several treasured nieces and nephews, and her grandson Silas.

Lois lived a life defined by music, kindness, and quiet strength. She loved to sing gospel and country songs, filling her home, various churches, restaurants, and occasionally even the library, with warmth and amazing harmony. She cared for others by feeding them, comforting them, and showing up when they needed someone steady. She delighted in teaching her granddaughter how to clap, point, and play patty‑cake, leaving behind memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Neal Taylor; her daughter Geneva (Mike, who she called her son), and her beloved granddaughter Madeline. She is also survived by her cherished sister Rosie (Gradie). From coast-to-coast travels with Neal, quiet cups of hot chocolate with Mike during chemo, or cooking and baking with her daughter, Lois made every moment count with her well-timed humor and unforgettable hugs. Her love and generosity will live on in every person she touched.

Visitation will be on Thursday March 26, 2026 from 11am to 1pm with Brother Mitchell Scott officiating services at 1pm in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville with cremation to follow.   Online condolences can be made at www.kirbyfuneralservices.com
