Wayne Douglas Cates, 46, of Beggs, Oklahoma, passed away on January 11, 2024. Born on February 4, 1977, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Wayne was a loving husband, devoted father, and a man of faith. Wayne loved the Lord our God with all his heart and mind. He cherished his wife, Jennifer Ann Cates, and their life together was filled with love and joy. Wayne's greatest mission in life was to guide, teach, and lead his three sons, Wayne David Cates, Andrew Buchanan Cates, and Luke Douglas Cates. His love for them was evident in every aspect of their lives and will forever be Wayne's enduring legacy. Wayne had a successful career as a Commercial General Contractor at Carter Douglas and served as the Director of Facilities at Victory Church. He was also a valued member of the Board of Directors at Victory Christian School. Wayne's dedication and expertise in his field were highly regarded by all who knew him. In his free time, Wayne enjoyed being an inventor and indulging in his hobbies of fishing, hunting, and animal husbandry. These activities brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with nature. Wayne's life was deeply rooted in his faith, and he found solace and strength at various places of worship, including Sacred Heart, Post Oak Baptist Church, Methodist Temple, and Living Word Church growing up in Kentucky. Later in life, Wayne and Jennifer served as Children's Pastors at Crossroads Church in Russellville, Kentucky, and then attended and served in many capacities at Victory Church. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Ann Cates; his three sons, Wayne David Cates, Andrew Buchanan Cates, and Luke Douglas Cates; his mother, Judy Mae Cates; his stepmother, Frances Carolyne Cates; his brother, John Paul Cates; his brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Rebecka Lineberry; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Tiffany Cates; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wayne Cates. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Wayne's memory to the following charitable organizations: Bridging Hunger, Disaster 180, Victory Hawaii, Advanze Africa, Youth Vision International, and the Tulsa Dream Center. Wayne Douglas Cates will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love, wisdom, and generous spirit will forever be cherished and remembered. A Celebration of his Life Service will be held Sunday January 21, 2024 at 4pm In the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville.
