Woodson Landor "Lanny" Poore, born July 21, 1940, in Russellville, Ky., died March 29, 2022, in Bowling Green, Ky. He was 81.

Lanny was preceded in death by his father, William Eldon Poore, (1914-1988), and his mother Ruby (Bagby) Poore, (1910-1997), both of Russellville.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Faye Jenkins Poore, of Russellville; sister, Sharon Poore (James) Story of Gainesville, Ga.; son Derek Woodson Poore, and grandson Woodson James Poore, both of Louisville, Ky.; sister-in-law Fernn L. Jenkins; step-children Melanie (Jeff) Manley and Tim Gragg; step-grandchildren Seth Manley and Lydia Manley Holt.

Lanny attended the University of Kentucky, and was a graduate of the former Bowling Green Business University (BU). When his father, Eldon, retired, Lanny ran the family business, the Russellville Tractor Company, at 1840 Hopkinsville Road.

A lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan, Lanny in later life often talked sports and other topics of the day with friends at the Colonial Inn Restaurant in Russellville.

A visitation service will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral at 1:00 p.m., April 1, at Kirby Funeral Services in Russellville with Brother Donnie Blick officiating & burial to follow in Mapel Grove Cemetery.
