Charles "Charlie" Ray

Charles (Charlie) Cooper Ray, 62, of Bowling Green, KY passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Hospice of Southern KY.  He was born in Russellville on June 26, 1958 to the late Wanda Delores Cooper Ray and Hickman Stanford Ray Jr..  He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Russellville.  He was a proud alumnus of Western Kentucky University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He enjoyed a long career as a Realtor in the Logan County area. He was an active civic leader within his community serving in leadership roles in the Rotary Club, Shakertown at South Union, Chamber of Commerce, as well as many other organizations.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Belinda Morris Ray. He is survived by his daughter, Corinne Taylor Ray of Austin, Texas, his son, Cooper Morris Ray (Abbey Ray) of John’s Island, South Carolina, his brother, Jim Ray (Sharon Ray) of Russellville, and his niece, Sara Ray Williams, of Lexington, South Carolina.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.

Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22 at Kirby Funeral Services in Russellville with Brent Crabtree officiating.
